A superb Vera Cruz volcanic stone hacha. Faint traces of reddish pigment in the recess of the mouth. Intact, with excellent wear and patina. Stone carvings of this type are symbolic of equipment (axes) used in the ritual ball game. They were possibly placed around the game court. |
