Title: A limestone wall fragment carved in high relief, showing a portion of a processional scene.
Item Code: a7968
Description: A limestone wall fragment carved in high relief, showing a portion of a processional scene.
This section was evidently left unfinished, since the faint remnant draughtsman's lines (in red pigment) indicate the contours of two further figures which were to be worked. The completed piece would therefore have shown three overlapping figures in profile, portrayed in striding stance and hauling on a rope. The figures would possibly have been part of a funeral procession.
