Buff slip with overpainted decoration on the interior and exterior in the form of thirty-eight fish (according to Parpola, representations of a sky god), and repeated sequence of geometric designs around the interior rim. Red, yellow, green and brown mineral pigments. Intact, with earth deposits evident. This piece is accompanied by a thermoluminescence test report from the University of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, giving an approximate age of 5350 years BP +/- 25%. |
