Recessed eyes would originally have held precious inlay.
There is a tang at the base of the neck; the body of the ibis would have been of alabaster or wood.
Imaginatively presented on a custom wooden mount.
Origin: Dynasty XXVI, 664-525 B.C. Egypt.
