An elegant Javanese bronze vessel in the form of a human headed bird figure "Kinarra", the female couterpart of "Kinnari". An important deity in both Hindu and Buddhist mythology. Wearing an assortment of jewellry, with one perforation on the back indicating possible use as alibation vessle, and traces or gilding remaining around the head. |
