Description

A rare Sassanian silver belt consisting of eight elements with pressed images of mythical animals. The main buckle with a lion and lioness, then a pair of recumbent Ibex, after this a pair of phoenix, followed finally by a pair of lions. 

Origin:

 Sassanian Period, Circa 4th to 6th Century A.D., Central Asia

Dimensions:

 Dimensions: 12.5 x 7.4 cm to 5 x 4.4 cm

Condition:

 All over oxidised patina, displaying  ancient losses.
